America’s Homeplace

Origin Story

America’s Homeplace started in 1972 with a single location in Gainesville, Georgia, and since then has been growing across the Eastern United States. Now they have 47 custom home building centers across 12 states. With this huge service area and years of experience, they have become a very well-recognized brand, with a huge customer base.

About America’s Homeplace

America’s Homeplace is a larger size Incorporated Home Building Company also known as Americas Home Place, Inc. Being around since the 1970’s they have over 50 years of experience and have used that experience to create a system of Top-Notch Production Standards, Energy Efficiency, and a streamlined process to create a home. While working with them you will receive a Project Manager that uses a process created by America’s Homeplace to ensure you understand and can fully expect what you will receive with your new home. With America’s Homeplace being a larger incorporated company, you will work directly with the local project manager depending on what home building center you are nearby. However, they have taken steps to ensure customer support and transparency and that the building process is as smooth and easy as possible, allowing customers to visit their homes at any time during the construction process. America’s Homeplace also places a huge value on building Energy Efficient Homes, using techniques such as a Blower Door Test (To check the Airtightness of the home), Continuous Outer Wall Insulation (To prevent gaps in walls), and Vapor barriers (to prevent moisture and air); building such energy efficient home has also been proven to help resale value for years. Through design and architectural engineering America’s Homeplace Plan has implemented many features as standard, that most would only find from a custom builder, these include 9 Foot Ceilings, Architectural Shingles, Shaw Floors, Granite Kitchen Countertops, stainless steel appliances, Hard Surface Flooring, Delta Faucets and etc. While not being a custom builder they will build on your lot or land and still give plenty of options for customization such as cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, colors, siding, and roofing choices. They also can redraw plans if you decide to modify walls, adjust sizes, add future areas, or add specialty components / additional energy-efficient products then estimate cost with this new set of plans. These are some of the reasons America’s Homeplace is one of the nation’s largest scattered lot builders.

Customer Support

America’s Homebuilders takes a very hands-on approach to customer support. In order to accomplish this, they developed a system of site and pre-construction meetings prior to the initial construction, not only does this avoid confusion but relieves some of the stress and anxiety that most customers feel planning their home. Another way they relieve stress is by allowing you to visit the job site during construction, including planned meetings during certain phases of construction. While building your home you will be assigned directly to a project manager (who verifies their quality standards are being upheld), and a production staff (Who handles comments, concerns, or questions). Great Customer Support is awesome but never needing customer support is even better, while nothing is guaranteed American Homeplace believes by offering quality building products they can provide each customer with a higher level of confidence.

Core Values

America’s Homeplace’s philosophy is very simple sounding but shows the entire essence of the culture within the company. The saying “principle over profit” has been the motto and foundation of the growth which the company has seen since it was started 50 years ago

Building Process
  1. Pick a House Plan– With their Building Consultant you decide what plan will fit you best for your lifestyle, budget and etc.…
  2. Customizing the Home– Once deciding on a plan you and the Building Consultant will sit down within their design gallery and figure out what customizable options you want to select for your home. These include floors, countertops, fireplaces, and many other options.
  3. Sign The Building Agreement- Once you love the plan and agree on a price you will sign the Building Agreement and prepare for construction
  4. Site & Pre-Construction Meetings- This is the special process America’s Homeplace created in order to decrease confusion and stress. Here you meet with their Project Manager to discuss the position of the home and determine site preparation costs. Then you will have a final meeting with them to finalize anything else.
  5. ConstructionThis is where site preparation, pouring, framing, and interior and exterior finishes take place. Everything during this process is overseen by your Project Manager. They also have many videos on this subject which you can find here.
  6. Closing- At the end of the process you close on the home and receive the keys.
Warranty

They offer a 2-10 Home Warranty on all their homes which covers you for up to 10 years. You can find out more about 2-10 Home Warranties at their website here.

Summary of America’s Homeplace

To sum up America’s Homeplace they have been a widely known and respected company on the eastern side of the United States for the last 50 years. They use many different techniques and procedures in order to give a customer the feeling of value and to ease the stress and worry that typically come with building a home.  While not a custom home builder they do give plenty of options on the design of your home and allow you to build on your own lot. To our knowledge they do not have a program, app, or website that keeps you updated on the progress that many larger and local home builders are incorporating. Also, with a company of this size, you could see variations between each Project Manager and supporting team; therefore, the experiences of customers could change from area to area. With all this being said to be in business for 50 years America’s Homeplace must have been doing something right. So all in all, if you want a house built on your lot, don’t require a custom builder, and feel comfortable after meeting the project manager; America’s Homeplace is one to consider.
